Mom's Mental Health Matters: Maternal Mental Health Awareness

Motherhood is the toughest journey in the world.

Your hormone changes,
The discomfit of pregnancy,
the world gets turned completely upside down,

Everything you thought you knew about is no longer the same.

But you know what?

It’s ok, because we are all learning to be a mom.
It’s ok even if there are days you don’t feel like it.
Whatever you are going through, please know that you are not alone.

Statistics have shown that as many as 1 in 5 moms experience symptoms of depression or anxiety during Perinatal or Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorder (PMADs) during pregnancy or the first year after childbirth.

PMADs can happen to any woman and it can be an overwhelming experience for a mother. BUT it DOES NOT mean you are not good enough, weak, and a bad parent.

Be gentle to yourself, mommies. No matter how defeated you may feel, taking the bad days in stride makes you a warrior every day.
